Youth Ministry Vision
“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:42
Calvary South Austin Youth Ministry aims to:
- (Worship) TEACH our youth. Help our youth get a strong foundation in the Word of God by teaching through the Word of God at their level. As they grow and mature in their understanding of the bible and how it relates to their lives and today’s culture, it is our hope that they will be able to live victorious Christian lives through the power of the Holy Spirit wherever they are. (Romans 10:17; Ephesians 6:17)
- (Fellowship) CONNECT with our youth. Provide opportunities for our youth to build meaningful relationships with other youth their age, based on the common goal of worshipping God. Whether fellowship happens at our monthly gatherings, game/movie nights, or even before/after class, we hope that our youth learn to encourage each other and stir up love and good works in one another. (1 Thessalonians 5:11; Hebrews 10:24)
- (Discipleship) RAISE our youth up. Our youth leaders seek to come alongside the parents and disciple their youth, so that they have a deep knowledge of God and a desire for others to know Him. Ultimately, we hope that the experiences and knowledge that our youth gain in CSA Youth Ministry prepare them to go out and make disciples. (Matthew 28:19-20)
- (Ministry) SERVE with our youth. We desire for our youth to not only grow in the knowledge of God, but to put that knowledge to use by serving others inside and outside of the church. By teaching the youth what the bible has to say about serving others and providing them with opportunities to serve others, we hope that they learn to love others as God does. (John 13:14-15; 1 Peter 4:10)
- (Evangelism) TRAIN our youth. We believe that Christianity is true, just like 2 + 2 = 4 is true, and that there are plenty of evidences to show this. We want to discuss the big questions with our youth through bible studies, classes, or conversations, and equip them to be able to share their faith with skeptics. (1 Peter 3:15)
